BBA Filtration® has introduced a unique new scrim for support in filtration media called Typar Super Scrim™. Typar®* is a proven media in the filtration industry and has been used for more than 25 years. Typar Super Scrim builds on the advantages that have made Typar such a success in the filtration industry.

"Typar's key benefits are high strength, resistance to tearing, stiffness and the non-dusting characteristic of its continuous filaments," said Frank Baker, Marketing Director with BBA Filtration®. "Typar Super Scrim has those properties, but it has also been engineered to decrease resistance to airflow, thus optimizing it as a support component in filtration media. Made of polypropylene, Typar Super Scrim is great for use in electrostatically charged composites, especially with meltblowns. Its continuous filament structure means no dusting, and its stiffness helps ensure sharp and durable pleats. Typar Super Scrim can be used as a backing, facing or between layers of filtration media. It has no binders such as glue, adhesives or acrylic to limit the filtering area and is dimensionally stable.
